According to a research on Islamophobia conducted by the Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV), India produces the majority of the anti-Muslim propaganda on Twitter.

The ICV, a Muslim organization with a base in Australia and 270,000 members, discovered that 55.12% of the Islamophobic propaganda on Twitter comes from India.

The study discovered that political statements can have a “effect on the incidence of Islamophobia is significant.

Together, three nations were discovered to have posted 86% of the anti-Muslim comments on the microblogging site.

While the UN had cautioned last year that “epidemic proportions” of Islamophobia had been reached “Platforms like Twitter haven’t done much to get rid of such content, despite the fact that they’ve urged the international community to combat anti-Muslim prejudice.

Only 14.83% of the nearly four million anti-Muslim posts that the ICV discovered during this time had been deleted.

According to the report, the US, the UK, and India produced most of the content from 2017 to 2019.

According to TRT World, social media users in India have accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of promoting bigotry and discrimination.

The survey also mentions that former US President Donald Trump appeared in anti-Muslim posts the third-most frequently. The UK’s anti-Islam sentiment extends beyond social media, as seen by the former prime minister Boris Johnson’s casual comparison of Muslim women who wear the niqab to “letter boxes.”
