The Punjab Development Working Party (PDWP) has granted approval for the construction of a new Government Officers Residence (GOR) near Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase-9 in Lahore, along with several other development schemes.
The decision was made during the 15th PDWP meeting, presided over by Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Chairman of the Planning & Development (P&D) Board. These development projects encompass the road sector and public buildings and have a combined estimated cost of PKR 5,612.725 million.
Among the approved projects, the construction of the GOR near DHA Phase-9 stands out, with a budget allocation of PKR 1,644 million.
Additionally, the meeting greenlit the construction of a multi-storey building intended for Grade 11-14 residences within the Staff Colony at Chauburji Garden Estate on Multan Road, with a rationalized cost of PKR 780 million.
Moreover, essential facilities at the Board of Revenue were approved with an allocated budget of PKR 1,011.511 million. Another significant initiative that received the green light is the construction of a flyover at Railway Phatak Chak RS Shujabad Expressway, covering a length of 1.08 kilometers in District Multan. This pivotal project comes with an estimated cost of PKR 1,024 million.
These approvals mark a step forward in the development and infrastructure enhancement efforts of the Punjab region, with a focus on improving public buildings, residential facilities for government officers, and transportation infrastructure.
The PDWP’s decision to allocate resources to these projects reflects the commitment to advancing the region’s urban and civic infrastructure to meet the growing demands and needs of its residents.
