Cherat Cement’s Line 1 Bmr Project To Complete In January

The Cherat Cement Co.’s Line 1 Balancing, Modernization, and Replacement (BMR) project is scheduled to be finished in January 2023.

According to the most recent corporate report, Cherat Cement has said that the BMR for Cement Line 1 and the installation of the main crusher at Lakrai village, Nowshera district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, Pakistan, would be finished by January 2023.

Abid Vazir, the plant’s executive director and company secretary, informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) last year that these actions would increase operational efficacy. The main crusher installation and the BMR of cement Line 1 come to about PKR3.5 billion ($21.8 million).

Under SBP’s Temporary Economic Refinance Facility (TERF) long-term loans, three conventional banks will provide long-term financing for the project.

Earlier, the firm significantly increased its production capacity to more than 4.5Mta with the successful introduction of Line III for clinker production, which boasts a total production capacity of more than 14,700tpd.

For the year ended September 30, 2022, the company reported an overall after-tax profit of PKR1.483 billion (US$6.67 million).

Moreover, the firm report further states that as part of its long-term strategic strategy, Line IV, its fourth production line, will be established in Dera Ismail Khan, KPK, due to the anticipated increase in demand for cement in the coming years. It is currently obtaining land and satisfying other legal conditions to construct the greenfield line.

Cherat Cement is closely observing the situation in the nation but has not yet disclosed the capacity or pricing. Once the economic situation improves, the decision to proceed with the project will be made.

In the meantime, KPK has stated through a paid advertorial in local media that Dera Ismail Khan, located in the southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, is thought of as Pakistan’s center and is destined to grow into a regional economic hub and the center of trade flows because of its strategic location, accessibility from the recently built Kallur Kot bridge, and Western Alignment of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route.
