The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board meeting, held under the chairmanship of Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal, approved the establishment of the Building and Housing Control Wing.
He directed the board to produce the concept plan for the Islamabad Bus Terminal I-11 in two weeks. CDA chief directed that building on the Islamabad Bus Terminal start within two months.
The bus station will serve as a vital transition point for visitors and intercity travelers.
The board said that rainwater harvesting has been made required in Islamabad’s residential and commercial structures. It was agreed that no building plan would be allowed unless a water recharging well and tank were built.
It should be mentioned that the Building Housing Control Wing was given complete authority.
The establishment of a building control wing will aid in the prevention of illegal structures and the enforcement of building codes.
Furthermore, fifty teams of field personnel will work in the building control wing. The building control team will comprise one assistant director and two surveyors.
In addition, the CDA Board evaluated the rules and regulations for improving the Sanitation Directorate and the Environment Wing. The Sanitation Directorate and the Environment Wing have also been given the authority to apply fines and punishments, according to the documents.
The CDA Board has assigned the authority to determine the charge to Chairman CDA. Aside from that, the CDA Board has authorized revisions to the ICT Building Control Bylaws Regulation 2002, as well as building bylaws for IJP and Murree Road development.
The board meeting also increased the proportion of Mouve area to floor area from 3000 yards to 15000 yards. The floor area ratio for the H-Series Sector Institutional Building has also been raised.
The CDA Board has also resolved to raise the floor space ratio of the educational plots in Islamabad’s Zones 2, 4, and 5.
During the board meeting, consent was also obtained to rent lands for the development of schools in Islamabad. School lands will be leased at reduced rates for 33 years. These schools will be built to help the middle class. All registered housing societies, community centers, dispensaries, and school sites will also be included in the estate wing inventory.
