Canadian Company Takes Mountains In Mansehra On Lease For Marble Mining

A Canadian firm has set its eyes on the enthralling beauty of Manshera, Pakistan. According to reports, foreign investors have shown renewed interest in investing in the country’s economy. 

Sources reported that their investment will be focused on the region’s mineral-rich landscape in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Canadian company has obtained a lease for hilly terrain near Manshera, where they intend to conduct marble mining operations. 


The land lease deal was finalized at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment office, in the presence of the Canadian company’s country head, Nabeel Saqib, the provincial minister for industry, the secretary of industries, and the board’s director. 


The minister was pleased about the company’s $15 million investment in marble mining. He emphasized that this venture would provide job possibilities in the area. 


Moreover, the Board of Investment’s director, Iqbal Sarwar, indicated that foreign investors would be given all?the required facilities and urged to invest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He added?that such agreements will create new job opportunities and boost economic growth.

Investors believe Pakistan has enormous mineral deposits and encourage both domestic and foreign corporations to invest in the country, especially its mineral resources. 


Last week, the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Hazara University Mansehra signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). SCCI acting President Ejaz Khan Afridi and Vice-Chancellor, of Hazara University Manshera Mohsin Nawaz signed the MoU at the chamber’s house. 


Dr. Masroor Bangash, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), and Dr. Zubair Alam Khan, Manager of UIL, were also present at the signing ceremony. 


Furthermore, SCCI has begun a series of MoUs with public and private sector institutions, according to Ejaz Khan Afridi, who described the signing of the MoU with Hazara University Mansehra as a milestone step towards increasing industry-academia linkages. He added?that the MoU intends to provide graduates and young students with technical skills in addition to completing their academic careers, allowing them to find immediate jobs in markets.
