Traversaal.ai from Pakistan, the winner of the Meta APAC AI Accelerator Finals, has received a $100,000 USD grant for their innovative use of Llama to create a state-of-the-art Urdu Llama model aimed to connect 250 million Urdu speakers around the world.
Their groundbreaking initiative, a virtual tutor capitalizing on LIama Technology of META, got them a $100,000 grant, a message from Singapore on Friday claimed. Â
“This groundbreaking solution provides high-quality learning resources in both Urdu and English, highlighting the immense talent within Tech Destination Pakistan, however, addressing critical societal issues and challenges like educational inequality.”
Runners-up from New Zealand and Indonesia were also recognized further, emphasizing and underscoring the growing structure of Pakistan as a hub for technological development and AI-driven solutions and strengthening its position as an emerging leader in the global dignity economy.

Before this year, Pakistan paved the way or set up a precedent by organizing Asia-Pacific’s first META LIama Pitchthon at Ignite NICAT. The landmark event was a massive step in placing Tech Destination Pakistan on a global AI innovation map, with a strong gov baking.
Pitchathon mesmerized AI enthusiasts and innovators from Pakistan, highlighting the potent capacity of the nation to become a key player in the global digital economy. A call for the competition started on the 19th of July 2024, attracting 112 submissions after a rigorous selection process, 17 teams were decided to be shortlisted by E27 and META officials to pitch their ideas in the final round on the 13th of August 2024 before the judge’s panel. The panel keenly analyzed and reviewed each project depending on technical possibility, potential strength, and sensible AI utilization or execution.
