The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has presented Islamabad’s first digital car parking system, beginning at G-8 Markaz. This new project is a major move toward modernizing the city’s parking system and making it simpler for individuals to find and pay for parking spaces.

CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, alongside different individuals from the board, officially launched the project. For now, parking is being presented free of charge so that individuals can become used to the new framework. The objective is to assist the public in understanding how it functions before full charges are applied.

The digital parking system gives a consistent and contactless parking experience. Also, it allows clients to acquire parking tickets while sitting in their vehicles. The cherry on top is that clients can pay parking charges through various digital payment choices. There are seven digital payment methods available. They incorporate Visas, debit cards, QR codes, and scratch cards, making the whole interaction quick and easy to understand.

In the initial stage, there will be no parking fee. CDA needs to advance awareness and familiarize people in general with this new system. The specialists who accept free stopping will urge more individuals to use the advanced stopping arrangement and experience its advantages firsthand.

A significant part of the new system is that the revenue produced from digital parking will be invested directly into the local infrastructure. It will even include the installation of elevators for similar business sectors where the parking system works. Chairman Randhawa highlighted that the digital parking system will further develop traffic management. Also, it will positively impact business development and the city’s economy. This innovative drive by CDA is anticipated to change Islamabad’s parking landscape and act as a model for different cities in Pakistan.

The main phase of the project will see digital parking introduced at F7 Center, Centaurus, and Blue Area Parking Plaza, with extra expansion planned for other business centers in Islamabad. Chairman Randhawa highlighted that revenue from the digital parking system will be reinvested into upgrading the city’s markets and infrastructure. This innovative solution is set to make parking more effective and user-friendly across the capital.
