Modern Software Technology Parks (STPs) and e-Rozgaar Centres were officially opened by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) on Wednesday at Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2. ICB G-6/3, ICG F-6/2, IMCG (PG) F-7/4, IMCB F-8/4, and IMCB F-10/4 are the five STPs/e-Rozgaar Centres that have been built in the model colleges in Islamabad during the first phase.
In order to promote a thriving tech ecosystem in Islamabad, this project is a major step forward.
The earlier event marked the official opening of the STP/e-Rozgaar Centre at Islamabad Model College for Girls (PG), F-7/4, by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
At the event, he conveyed his excitement for the project by saying, “This initiative is a cornerstone in our efforts to empower Pakistani youth by giving them the tools they need to succeed in the digital economy.” These hubs will act as incubators for entrepreneurship and innovation in addition to bridging the knowledge gap between academia and business.
The initiative’s immense potential was emphasised by Member of Parliament Abdul Aleem Khan, who was there as the principal guest and noted, “The establishment of these technology parks is a transformative step for our young professionals.” We are building the groundwork for a strong digital economy in Pakistan by giving them access to contemporary amenities and a nurturing atmosphere.
Declaring, “This initiative marks a significant milestone in promoting a vibrant tech ecosystem in Islamabad,” Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary MoFEPT, emphasised the significance of the project during his speech. The five IT parks built at model colleges are more than simply buildings; they are platforms, communities, and engines of development.

The project has received support from representatives of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), who emphasised the strategic significance of such initiatives in establishing Pakistan as a competitive player in the global technology environment.
The old halls have been totally renovated into contemporary areas ideal for creativity and collaboration in just three months.
The renovated spaces now have free high-speed internet, free electricity, and air conditioning, making them the perfect place for entrepreneurs and independent contractors. These areas also feature fresh furniture, colourful wall paintings, and conference and meeting rooms, all of which contribute to the lively and motivating ambiance.
Speaking at the event was Principal Prof. Sabah Faisal, who stated, “We believe that a workspace should be more than just a place to work.” It ought to stimulate imagination, encourage teamwork, and create a feeling of belonging.
