A delegation of Egyptian investors met with Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, and expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s real estate sector.

Senator Dar expressed his enthusiasm in welcoming the Egyptian business community to invest in Pakistan, particularly in the real estate sector, and assured investors that they would be provided with all necessary assistance. During a meeting with Mr Tarek Hamdy, CEO of Eighteen Elite Real Estate, a subsidiary project of renowned Egyptian businessman Mr Naguib Sawiris, the minister expressed his desire to strengthen the bilateral business relationship.

Minister Dar was given an overview of Mr Hamdy’s company, including its history of working with Pakistan in the telecommunications and real estate industries. The minister expressed gratitude for Mr Sawiris’ participation and stated that the current government is providing maximum support and a favourable environment to attract international investors to take advantage of Pakistan’s investment opportunities.

It is important to note that many international firms, including Saudi firms, have expressed a desire to invest in Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Lahore Central Business District Development Authority (LCBDDA) (LCBDAA). Long-term investment will be made in the development of high-rise and environmentally friendly infrastructure.

An Egyptian firm expressed interest in exploring business opportunities in Pakistan’s energy sector earlier this year, according to a news source. In this regard, Egyptian Ambassador Tarek Dahrough met with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Petroleum Nadeem Babar.

The Egyptian envoy led a delegation from TAQA, an Egyptian energy company, to Pakistan to discuss business opportunities in the energy sector. Babar gave the delegation an overview of the industry. He emphasised the incumbent government’s efforts to reform the sector.

The SAPM also stated that Pakistan was dedicated to implementing a cleaner fuel mechanism and a green energy policy. He went on to say that the government planned to diversify the energy mix by incorporating more hydel and renewable energy into the national grid.
