Under the “Capacity Building of IT Industry in Specialisation Technologies & Platforms programme,” the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication intends to teach 15,000 Pakistanis new and specialised technologies.
In accordance with the paper made available to ProPakistani, women and young people will receive training in a variety of new and complicated technologies, including blockchain, machine learning, artificial intelligence, digital twins, cyber security, cloud computing, e-health, BPO, and e-agriculture.
According to the paper, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), in consultation with industry and academia, would decide which technology is the most important and in-demand for training.
300 master trainers on specialised technologies like blockchain, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, etc. will be generated as part of this programme.
The industry will then receive assistance from these master trainers in developing HR development programmes, creating curricula, and providing training.
A high-level steering council will be constituted with the aim of selecting training partners and instructors, selecting training courses, and selecting their lengths.
The steering group for the initiative will include senior officials from the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), the Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), and other important stakeholders.
To ascertain the present demand for highly qualified personnel and the related technologies, a survey of the entire IT industry will be conducted. Based on survey results, calls for bids will be created, and companies with thorough learning management systems for training delivery with the possibility of online participation will be chosen.
The government has allotted Rs. 1,000 million in the first stage, while the MoITT estimates that it will cost Rs. 2,000 million to train 15000 people. Each of the 2,500 students who successfully finish the programme will be paid Rs. 25,000 per month and will work as an intern for 3 months in an IT company.
