حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ ، فَاشْتَدَّ قَوْلُهُ فِي ذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَالَ : لَيَنْتَهُنَّ عَنْ ذَلِكَ أَوْ لَتُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ .
ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ مدینی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے سعید بن مہران ابن ابی عروبہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے قتادہ نے بیان کیا کہ انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا۔ لوگوں کا کیا حال ہے جو نماز میں اپنی نظریں آسمان کی طرف اٹھاتے ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے نہایت سختی سے روکا۔ یہاں تک آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ لوگ اس حرکت سے باز آ جائیں ورنہ ان کی بینائی اچک لی جائے گی۔
Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, What is wrong with those people who look towards the sky during the prayer? His talk grew stern while delivering this speech and he said, They should stop (looking towards the sky during the prayer); otherwise their eyesight would be taken away.

Narrated Salim bin `Abdullah: My father said, Allah's Apostle used to raise both his hands up to the level of his shoulders when opening the prayer; and on saying the Takbir for bowing. And on raising his head from bowing he used to do the same and then say Sami`a l-lahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa laka l-hamd. And he did not do that (i.e. raising his hands) in prostrations.

Ibn `Umar said: The Prophet used to do the same.
