The famous Pakistani drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum is back in the headlines, and this time, for a sudden reason. Fans have noticed striking similarities between the iconic show and the brand-new episodes of the Indian drama Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, starring Samridhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the most-watched Indian serials, with its fourth-generation story of Abhira and Armaan winning hearts.

However, the latest episodes have left fans disappointed, as they consider the show has blatantly copied scenes, dialogues, or even personal styling from Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.

Especially, YRKKH depicts Armaan and Abhira leaving their luxurious home to begin over in a modest, rundown house—a storyline that closely resembles Mustafa (Fahad Mustafa) and Sharjeena (Hania Aamir) in Kabhi main Kabhi Tum. Lovers have also pointed out similarities in Sharjeena’s signature salwar-and-T-shirt look, which appears to have been imitated in YRKKH.

Social media is abuzz with criticism, with lovers calling out the alleged plagiarism. Many are worrying that Indian creators acknowledge the inspiration or carry more originality to their scripts.

Produced by Fahad Mustafa and Ali Kazmi under Big Bang Entertainment, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum was directed by Badar Mehmood and marked Fahad Mustafa’s grand return to TV after a decade. The display’s gripping storyline, marvelous performances, and hit soundtrack ‘Chal Diye Tum Kahan’ contributed to its exceptional achievement, surpassing 1 billion views and cementing its reputation as a South Asian favorite.

As the controversy unfolds, fans await a response from the makers of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Meanwhile, the recognition of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum keeps rising in India, mainly because of the strong chemistry among its lead actors, Fahad Mustafa and Hania Aamir. Considering the backlash, viewers are now waiting for an announcement from DKP regarding the allegations.
