The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has assured that construction work on the F-8 flyover is advancing steadily, with round-the-clock activity to meet the February 15 deadline. In a press release issued on Sunday, the CDA highlighted significant progress on the project and shared updates following a site visit by its chairman, Mohammad Ali Randhawa.
Accompanied by the member engineering and other officials, Chairman Randhawa reviewed ongoing work at the F-8 Jinnah Avenue Interchange and the F-10 roundabout projects. He was briefed that the base slabs of the flyover had been completed, while work on the vertical and final slabs is expected to wrap up within this month. Furthermore, two deck slabs connecting Jinnah Avenue to F-10 have already been completed.
During the visit, the chairman also reviewed an updated engineering design aimed at improving traffic flow at the F-10 roundabout. Among the innovations is a protected U-turn under construction on Jinnah Avenue, which incorporates tree transplantation to preserve the environment. Officials assured the chairman that slip roads had been designed to ensure no trees would be damaged. He directed the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to use its specialized tree transplanters to relocate large trees safely to alternative locations.

The CDA chairman expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress and reiterated the commitment to completing construction activities on schedule. Meanwhile, construction of a protected U-turn on Nazimuddin Road near F-10 is also underway, further enhancing traffic management in the area.
Chairman Randhawa also inspected progress on the Serena Interchange, which had initially been scheduled for completion by January 5 but faced delays. He was informed that the Serena Underpass on Suharwardy Road is now complete and open to traffic. Additionally, two underpasses on Srinagar Highway are expected to be operational this month.
In an effort to improve the aesthetic appeal of these projects, the chairman emphasized prioritizing landscaping and horticulture work. He also directed the installation of permanent lighting and digital screens to enhance the visual charm of the sites.
Separately, the chairman visited C-14 to review the development of road infrastructure, which is over 90% complete. Drainage and sewerage systems are also nearing completion, with more than 50% of the work finished. The remaining work is set to conclude soon, paving the way for plot possession handovers once final payments are made. Notably, the CDA recently sold 236 plots in the area, generating Rs14 billion in revenue.
These development efforts underline the CDA’s commitment to improving Islamabad’s infrastructure and urban landscape.
