Wagon R remains one of most selling affordable hatchbacks in Pakistan’s automotive market, known for its spacious interior, offering room for passengers, and along with other features.
Despite its hype and specs, the car sales plummeted, forcing Pak Suzuki to discontinue its top variants. The company clarified that new bookings for Wagon R are being suspended and not permanently discontinuing the vehicle.
From March 11, 2025, Suzuki will no longer accept orders for the vehicle in what is said to be end of famous car. Amid the buzz, Suzuki confirmed that Wagon R will continue production after brief phase. Different stories are being shared online, suggesting that the model might be discontinued in Pakistan.
Despite its claims, Wagon R bookings are now suspended, and it remains unclear when the Wagon R will be available for purchase in coming months. Suzuki also cleared that there are no immediate plans for a new model, but one could potentially arrive in the next two to three years.
Announcement on Wagon R reserving
In an official statement to its sellers, the enterprise introduced: “Pak Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd has completely suspended the bookings top-of-the-line Suzuki Wagon R (all variations),” further adding that it’s far effective at once from March 11, 2025.
The notification read, “Kindly recommend the sales team and prospective clients accordingly.”
Wagon R was added in Pakistan in 2014 with 3 variants. The VX variant was initially priced at Rs 899,000, the VXR at Rs 1,049,000, and the VXL at Rs 1,089,000.
The base version was later discontinued, and in 2020, the AGS variation was introduced with an automated tool shift transmission and an airbag at a fee of Rs 1,890,000. Over the years, prices improved significantly, with the most recent charges set at Rs 3,214,000 for the VXR variant, Rs 3,412,000 for the VXL, and Rs 3,741,000 for the AGS version.
Sales, probably the greatest, of the Wagon R have declined recently. Between July 2024 and February 2025, the organization offered 1,608 units, compared to 2,285 units for the duration of the same period last year.

In contrast, Suzuki Swift recorded revenue from 5,295 units, Suzuki Cultus 1,887 units, and Suzuki Alto 28,194 units during the same duration.
Many people think that the decline in sales was a big factor in the decision to suspend bookings, albeit the corporation has not officially revealed the precise reasons. Suzuki probably stopped taking reservations for the Waggon R because of its constantly declining sales, which allowed them to concentrate on other, more well-liked models.
Once a popular option among buyers, the Waggon R has been a part of Suzuki’s inventory in Pakistan for almost ten years. It has, however, had difficulty holding onto its market share over time due to fierce competition from other automobiles in the same class. Suzuki appears to have found it less profitable to keep selling the model despite its prior popularity due to the vehicle’s falling sales figures.
Businesses like Suzuki must modify their tactics in response to shifting client tastes and market conditions. The suspension of the Waggon R might be a move to concentrate on other models that are doing better in the market right now.
