The federal government has authorised PKR 2 billion in funding for the Potha Interchange, which will connect the Hazara Motorway to the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway.
According to the news source, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the construction of the Potha Interchange for PKR 2 billion. The prime minister has already approved the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway, which will connect Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The Badra Interchange was supposed to connect the Hazara Motorway to the Karakoram Highway and the city of Mansehra, but it is far from the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway.
People from Mansehra City and the surrounding areas, according to retired MNA Captain Mohammad Safdar, had to use the Qalandarbad Interchange on the Karakoram Highway to get to the Hazara Motorway. Travel times will be reduced as the Potha Interchange is built.
The Hazara Motorway will connect to the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway via Barari and will pass through the Bakrial area, according to the details. According to the news source, the PM will soon visit the district to inaugurate the Mansehra-Muzaffarabad Motorway, the Potha Interchange, and Asia’s largest grid station.
Furthermore, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi stated that the Sutlej Indus Economic Network (SIEN), which will cost PKR 160 billion and connect Sutlej to Sindh, will be the most expensive development project in history.
According to the details, the SIEN has been approved for Vehari, Lodhran, Okara, Kasur, Pakpattan, and Bahawalpur. The districts will be linked by GT roads, motorways, and the Indus Highway. At the event, CM Elahi stated that investors, traders, industrialists, and farmers are about to embark on a new chapter of growth and prosperity.
According to the news source, a plan has been developed to connect the highway to various cities in stages. In the first phase, the Kasur Bypass to Lahore Ring Road G-1 SIEN Corridor will be completed. This will cost PKR 15 billion in total. The plan also includes connecting seven rural districts in Punjab to the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2), Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M-3), Bhattian-Multan Motorway (M-4), Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M-5), and Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-6) (M-11).
