Pakistan’s star athlete Arshad Nadeem, who brought the first gold medal in Olympics for the country in 40 years, has been showered with recognition, appreciation, prizes and rewards from the government as well as private individuals and enterprises.
Arshad Nadeem is a Pakistani hero javelin thrower who has made Pakistan proud after winning the gold medal in the Paris Olympics 2024. It was a memorable success for Pakistan since Pakistan won a gold medal in the Olympics after forty years. Not just this, Arshad Nadeem broke a record following 118 years by launching the longest throw. His throw was around 92.97 meters long. The pro-Pakistani javelin thrower’s second throw was the longest which was enough for him to get a gold medal.
Here are the details of the rewards that have so far been announced for Arshad Nadeem.
Government of Pakistan
President Asif Ali Zardari announced the decision on Saturday, hailing Nadeem’s accomplishment as a source of immense pride for Pakistan. The honor will be officially given to the athlete in a special ceremony.
“Arshad Nadeem’s unforgettable performance delighted the nation across the globe. His exceptional success in sports is a source of pride for the country,” President Zardari expressed in a letter.

The President will present the civil award upon Arshad Nadeem during a special ceremony to be held in acknowledgment of his best performance in sports.
Pakistan will present its second most noteworthy civilian honor, the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, upon Arshad Nadeem, the 27-year-old spear thrower who won the gold decoration and made another record at the Paris Olympics this week.
On behalf of the federal government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a reward of Rs 150 million for Arshad Nadeem for his historic win.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif herself arrived at Nadeem’s house in his hometown Mian Channu and presented a cheque of Rs 100 million to the javelin thrower.
She also presented the key of a Honda Civic car with the number plate “PAK 92.97” to Nadeem.
Sindh Government has announced Rs 50 million for the player.
Besides, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab reported plans to establish the ‘Arshad Nadeem Games Academy’ in Karachi.
Governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori announced Rs 1 million in reward for Arshad.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, in his personal capacity, announced a reward of Rs 5 million for Arshad.

Five Lacs from Nadeem Nani Wala
- Nadeem Nani Tik-toker has given five lac rupees and will go to Mian Channu alongside an iPhone.
H&S Apparel offered shopping worth rupees one lac.

Karachi Electric organization will give 2,000,000 to the player according to the announcement.
United Bank Limited will give 5,000,000 rupees.
FBR denies tax Rumors on Arshad Nadeem’s Award cash
The Federal Board of Revenue has rubbished the rumors guaranteeing that it is preparing to tax the award cash declared for Olympian gold medalist Arshad Nadeem.
“There are a few misleading and disturbing news in the electronic and social media that FBR is preparing to tax the Award Cash got or to be received by our National hero Arshad Nadeem. It is just baseless and wrong,” FBR said in a press release.
