The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the player draft for the 10TH edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League will be held in Gwadar, a port city in Balochistan.
The event, denoting the beginning of the league’s festivities, is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2025, with the specific start time to be affirmed later.
PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi said: “Gwadar, with its dazzling coastline and vital significance, addresses the heart of Pakistan’s economic future. By hosting the HBL PSL Player Draft here, we mean to feature its cultural and economic importance while celebrating the solidarity cricket brings to our country.
“The choice to pick Gwadar [as host for the player draft] was made fully intent on taking the famous sport among individuals in that part of the province and inspiring the next generations to take up cricket as a professional game,” the PCB said in a media statement.Â

In his comments, PCB director Mohsin Naqvi said that holding the PSL player draft in Gwadar would assist with joining the country through cricket.
“I look forward to welcoming all the franchises and the relevant stakeholders to the delightful city of Gwadar on Jan 11 as we make an exciting step towards denoting the beginning of the 10th edition of Pakistan’s greatest sporting event.”
HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer Said:
“It gives me extraordinary pride in announcing Gwadar as the host city for the HBL PSL Player Draft. This drive reflects our obligation to grow HBL PSL’s reach to every side of Pakistan and display the beauty of Pakistan to the world.
“HBL PSL is more than a cricket league to loving fans of Pakistan; it’s a celebration of Pakistan’s energy, variety, and ability. The player draft occurring in Gwadar is a step towards motivating young cricketers from Balochistan and different other cities of the country to dream big.” The relegation process and retention of players will be declared toward the end of December.
