Balochistan CTD police arrest four facilitators of Jaffar Express train attack

Quetta: Four suspects who were involved in hijacking the Jaffar Express train incident that occurred in Bolan district on March 11 have been taken into custody by the Balochistan police’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).  A terrorist organization took more than 400 passengers’ hostage during the horrific event, which resulted in a fatal altercation. 

As per the CTD sources, the arrests were made as part of an extensive investigation led by a joint team of senior officials from various law enforcement agencies. These suspects are currently under the police custody for interrogation, and authorities are working tirelessly and leaving no stone unturned to identify the attackers and uncover the full extent of their network. 

Forensic analysis and other criminal investigation processes are going on 

As part of the probe, the remains of the militants attacked or killed during the operation have been sent to the Forensic Science Agency for more analysis. Additionally, law enforcement officials have also grabbed arms and communication devices executed by the attackers, which are now undergoing forensic analysis.

Authorities have also sent the attackers’ fingerprints to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to know and check their identities. The step is extremely important and is expected to help law enforcement agencies trace possible links to other militant networks operating in the region. 

Casualties & Retaliatory Action 

The Jaffar Express attack caused the tragic deaths of nearly 26 passengers, while 40 others sustained injuries. The petrifying incident sent shockwaves across the country, prompting an immediate retaliatory operation by security forces. In the intense gunfight that followed, 33 attackers were killed, marking a massive response against those responsible for the brutal assault. 

Enhancing Security Measures & Seeking Justice 

The arrests of these four suspects are considered to be a critical step in the fight against terrorism in the province of Balochistan. Authorities remain committed to ensuring justice for the victims and strengthening security measures to stop future attacks. 

The investigation process is occurring continuously, security forces are evaluating the terrorist networks very closely to dismantle any remaining threats and protect citizens from such heinous acts of violence.
