Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) makes history by launching international flight operations from the New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA).
The first flight will connect Gwadar to Muscat, Oman, with services scheduled thrice weekly.
This milestone marks a new chapter in Gwadar’s transformation into a global aviation and trade hub.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif recently stated that the New Gwadar International Airport would bring prosperity to the region and provide new job possibilities.
The prime minister expressed gratitude to China for building an international-standard airport with cutting-edge amenities, citing the airport as an illustration of the strong partnership between Pakistan and China.
The prime minister gave the pertinent authorities instructions to develop a plan to turn the new airport into a busy transportation hub while presiding over the meeting on issues pertaining to the New Gwadar International Airport.
He also gave instructions to upgrade the road network that connects the New Gwadar International Airport to other parts of the nation, particularly the province.
The prime minister also gave the order to guarantee the new airport’s security measures are infallible.

Likewise, Pakistan Airlines (PIA) plans to expand its present daily schedule between Karachi and Gwadar to three times a week.
At the conference, it was revealed that Gwadar Airport is the biggest airport in the nation in terms of space, and it can accommodate A-380 aircraft. Additionally, the airport handles 400,000 passengers a year.
In addition to Pakistan Customs notifying the airport, the Pakistan Airport Authority has already granted the New Gwadar Airport an Aerodrome Certificate.
Likewise, the meeting was informed that personnel from several departments, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Pakistan Airport Authority, Airport Security Force, Pakistan Customs, Anti Narcotics Force, and Border Health Service, had already been sent to the airport.
Additionally, the gathering was informed that the land has been set aside for airport shopping malls, hotels, fuel farms, cold storage facilities, warehouses, courier services, cargo blinds, and technological ground support devices.
Regarding the opening of bank branches and ATMs at the airport, the conference was informed that all banks that were registered with the State Bank of Pakistan were in communication with one another.
The gathering was also informed that the feasibility of the second section of the East-Bay Motorway, which would have improved the road connection with Gwadar International Airport, was being prepared, while the first section had been finished.
Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister of Law and Justice; Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister of Defence and Aviation; Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister of Economic Affairs Division; Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Finance; and other pertinent high officials attended the meeting.
