In a bold jump toward the future, Pakistan has introduced a strategic collaboration with GalaxySpace, considered one of China’s main space technology corporations. This exciting partnership marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s pursuits to increase its space technology, satellite capabilities, and telecom infrastructure.
The announcement got here after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a high-level GalaxySpace delegation led by Chairman Xu Ming, wherein both sides explored funding and joint venture possibilities in Pakistan’s growing space region.
Talking to a delegation from Galaxy Space, a Chinese space technology company, in Islamabad, the greatest stated that the country was “keen to boom cooperation with China within the fields of space technology, area satellite and telecommunications, and satellite-based net.”

In February, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan, in collaboration with China, might send its first manned space mission to China’s space station (CSS).
Under the agreement, Pakistani astronauts will undergo training at the Astronaut Center of China. One selected astronaut shall be trained as a systematic payload specialist, getting ready for specialized research aboard the CSS. According to CSS’s planning, the selection process may conclude by 2026 for participation in a future mission.
The inaugural mission of the first Pakistani astronaut at CSS will entail performing cutting-edge scientific studies across a range of disciplines, such as biology, medicine, aerospace, applied physics, fluid dynamics, space radiation, ecology, and materials science, among others.
In April 2024, the authorities had notified ‘National Space Sports Rules 2024,’ applicable to space activities carried out in the territory of Pakistan, outside the territory if they’re carried out on ships, vessels, or different airborne cars registered in the United States of America, and every person sporting out space sports and providing area-based services in Pakistan.
According to the regulations, the National Space Agency (NSA) may have the authority to form agreements with international satellite companies to gather, disseminate, and commercialize foreign satellite information within Pakistan.
Currently, around six providers are offering satellite-based internet services worldwide, with new entrants also joining the market; these include Starlink, Amazon, OneWeb, and a Chinese firm. Meanwhile, resources within the NSA said that the Chinese company, too, has obtained records to enter Pakistan’s internet market.
Low-earth orbit satellites offer satellite-based internet services, which can offer continuous broadcast or record coverage even in remote areas where radio towers or fiber cable networks are not present.
