Pakistan Railways To Restore Three More Passenger Trains From November 1

Pakistan Railways announced on Wednesday to restore the operation of three more trains from November 1, along with the four trains restored on October 20.? 


According to the sources, the Pakistan Railways have decided to restore three more passenger trains from 20 Oct 2022. The recommencement has been announced after repairs of the railway track affected by the recent massive floods. 


While chairing the meeting, Federal Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique gave approval for the resumption of the operation of Allama Iqbal Express, Millat Express, and Sukkur Express from Oct 20. 


The participants of the meeting also reviewed the matters related to occupancy, cleanliness and punctuality of the trains. 


Last week on October 2, Pakistan Railways restored its operations from Karachi as the Peshawar-bound Rehman Baba Express left leaves Karachi Cantt Station with 1500 passengers on board. 


The train departed for Peshawar from Karachi at 10:15 am. As per the railways’ authorities, 1,200 commuters booked their computerized tickets and 300 passengers bought their tickets from the station. 


Moreover, Pakistan Railways had decided to restore passenger trains to Karachi from October 2, more than a month after being adjourned on August 26 following super massive floods in Sindh province. 


?“From October 05, Karakoram, Karachi Express, and Business Express will be run between Karachi and Lahore,” a Pakistan Railways officer said, adding that the decision was made in a meeting chaired by Railways Minister Saad Rafique. 


The spokesman said that the duration for Karachi-Lahore travel has been set at 22 hours and more coaches will be added to the trains. The travel duration will be reviewed after 30 days and will be reduced gradually. 


Last month PR officials said that the repair work of the track, which got damaged in floods in the region, will be completed by September 29. 


“Train booking for the?route?will begin in the next two days”, according to officials.
