Ogra Raises Lpg Price By Rs 2.95 Per Kg For November

OGRA Increases LPG Rates for November 


As compared to the prior month, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has raised the price of LPG by Rs 2.95 per kg for the month of November 2022.  


On Tuesday, the authority over oil and gas sent a notification in this respect. The announcement states that LPG prices have increased by Rs. 2.95 per kilogramme. A household 11.8 kilogramme cylinder’s maximum LPG consumer price has increased by Rs. 35 to Rs. 2,409 for November 2022. 


The maximum production price for domestic cylinders including GST has been set at Rs. 1925.95, which includes the producers’ price of Rs. 1,591.02, the petroleum levy of Rs. 55.09, and the GST of Rs. 279.84. 


The highest producer price with GST was determined to be Rs. 163,216 per metric tonne, which included the producers’ price of Rs. 134,832.17, the petroleum levy of Rs. 4,669, and the GST of Rs. 23,715 The maximum retail price for household LPG cylinders set by OGRA is Rs. 2409.16, which includes a GST of Rs. 70.21 and a marketing, distribution, and transportation margin of Rs. 413. 


The Authority has set a marketing margin of Rs. 17,000, a distribution margin of Rs. 10,000, a transportation cost of Rs. 8,000, and a GST of Rs. 5,950 per metric tonne. 


The announcement states that the LPG prices would be controlled with a maximum price at all points in the supply chain. However, as stated further in the announcement, manufacturers, marketing agencies, and distributors may sell below the maximum price sometimes set. 


According to the announcement, the aforementioned pricing will take effect today, November 1, 2022. 


Moreover, customers are paying a petroleum levy of Rs55.9 on every 11.8 kg of residential cylinders, and on top of the levy, the general sales tax has increased by a total of Rs350.5 (GST). The lack of piped gas supplies has compelled residents to use LPG. Major metropolises’ inhabitants and a large number of restaurants are compelled to pay more for LPG.
