The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced the start of a 270-kilometre-long Hub-DurejiDadu Motorway (M-7) project, according to news reports. More information will be released soon.

The Hub-DurejiDadu Motorway (M-7) project will connect several Pakistani cities to the highway system. It will also be an essential part of the southbound track from Islamabad to Karachi.

The highway authority has requested consultation services for the viability study and detailed design of the M-7 Motorway. According to Project Concept-1 (PC-1), the M-7 will have six service stations and will help to reduce traffic on the M-6.

In addition, the M-7 Project will also be linked to the recently inaugurated 306-kilometer-long Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6). Mr Shehbaz Sharif laid the groundwork for it. The M-6 is the final segment of the Peshawar-Karachi Motorway (PKM), which will help connect some of the country’s major cities.

It is worth noting that Pakistan is building several south-bound and north-bound highway networks as part of the highly regarded China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC). These networks will connect China with Gwadar in Balochistan, thereby promoting bilateral trade. Pakistan is likely to build a large road and rail network with the assistance of this project.

A couple of months back, the Federal Government approved Rs. 2 billion for the Potha Interchange, which will connect the Hazara Motorway (M-15) with the Manshera-Muazaffarabad Motorway.

PM Shahbaz Sharif has approved Rs. 2 billion for the Potha Interchange on the Manshera-Muazaffarabad Motorway project, which will connect Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. They also discussed the Badra Interchange, which connects the Hazara Motorway to the Karakoram Highway and Mansehra City.

It was previously located away from the Manshera-Muazaffarabad Motorway, and residents of Manshera City had to use Qalandarabad Interchange via KKH to reach the Hazara Motorway. As a result, the construction of the Potha Interchange will benefit the people by reducing travel time.
