Later this year, Lucky Motor Corp. intends to launch Kia’s most recent line of electric vehicles (EVs), according to media sources citing individuals with knowledge of the situation. The new Sportage, new Sorento, EV5, and EV9 are among the models that are anticipated.

In Pakistan, Kia has previously introduced Sportage and Sorento models that were a generation older. Despite receiving a facelift, Pakistan did not receive the launch of the most recent Sportage model—which is offered in international markets.

The Kia EV5 is a 665-kilometer-range electric compact crossover SUV.

The flagship model of the new lineup, the Kia EV9, is an all-electric SUV designed for the contemporary, electrified world. With a capacity for six to seven passengers, the EV9 offers connected, autonomous, emission-free travel while fusing sophistication and toughness.

With its three rows of seats, the EV9 can hold up to seven people. The GT-line provides two creative six-seat variations, while the base model has seven seats.

The EV9 optimises the possibilities of the scalable Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) upon which it is built. This maintains the advantages of ultra-fast charging, extended driving ranges, and a roomy interior while enabling a longer wheelbase and larger battery pack. Up to 210 kW of ultra-fast charging are possible with the SUV thanks to a Combined Charging System (CCS) connector on the right-hand side. Both 400V and 800V infrastructure are supported by the multi-input charging system.

Rear-wheel drive (RWD) models can travel up to 249 km on a 15-minute charge, while all-wheel drive (AWD) versions can travel up to 226 km. This is made possible by 800-volt ultra-high-speed charging. It just takes 24 minutes to charge a battery from 10% to 80%, or 70 kWh of energy. Drivers can use 400V fast chargers and 800V ultra-high-speed chargers thanks to the multi-charging technology.

Earlier this year, at the 2024 World Car Awards held during the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), the Kia EV9 took home the title of “World Electric Vehicle” as well as the coveted “World Car of the Year.”
