The second phase of renovation work at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, is scheduled to start immediately after the conclusion of the HBL Pakistan Super League Season 10 (PSL X).
According to preliminary reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will initiate a complete re-profiling of the stadium’s stands, followed by using a large-scale redevelopment project.
The goal is to deliver the infrastructure up to international requirements and make the stadium a more inviting and accessible venue for each domestic and international fixture.
The revamp comes in the wake of notably low spectator turnout during HBL PSL 2025 suits in Karachi, with many attributing the shortage of attendance to the outdated facilities and poor fan experience. Stakeholders are now shifting rapidly to cope with their concerns.
PCB and stadium authorities want to turn the venue into a welcoming, accessible site for domestic and international cricket fixtures by improving comfort and accessibility.

Planned changes include redesigned seating with higher highlights, extra legroom, and increased comfort. Modern aesthetics will also refresh the look of the historic stadium.
Access and exit routes can be revamped to improve crowd movement, safety, and ease of access. These changes’ purpose to reduce match-day traffic chaos.
Parking solutions also are a part of the plan, with new specific zones to resolve long-standing proceedings about congestion during large matches in the city.
Though no final timeline has been shared, media reports cautioned that the second one-phase work will start immediately as soon as PSL concludes this season.
With those enhancements, stakeholders hope to provide spectators with world-class stadium experience while keeping Karachi applicable on the global cricketing map.
