A world-class training programme for 4,000 IT graduates has been launched by the IT Ministry in partnership with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), P@SHA, and 21 top IT firms.
The “Tech Lift” programme is designed to assist the nation’s young people in obtaining the knowledge and expertise needed to boost Pakistan’s IT exports to $15 billion.
Syed Amin-ul-Haque, the Federal IT Minister, gave a speech at the “Tech Lift” boot camp’s inaugural cohort’s graduation ceremony in Karachi.
1,800 youth have already received training through the pilot programme, and by June 2023, 2,200 more will. From Karachi come 800 very deserving graduates.
Given that young people under the age of 30 make up two-thirds of Pakistan’s population, the Minister stressed the significance of giving young people access to top-notch IT training options.
According to him, increasing IT exports is crucial if Pakistan is to receive its fair share of the billions of dollars generated by the digital economy and the stability of the country’s economy is directly related to the development of the tech sector.
The program’s curriculum was created by fusing the skills of the next generation with the needs of the world, and IT businesses created worldwide standards for it.
The Minister further emphasised that the IT industry is the only one that employs more than 80% of people with respectable wages.
He mentioned how the actions of the IT Ministry had increased IT exports from $900 million to $3 billion, a 150% increase.
Giving young people access to top-notch IT training options is essential to achieving the objective of boosting exports to $15 billion and beyond.
