The construction of a new working women’s dormitory in Sector I-9/4 in Islamabad has received approval from the federal government. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the order for this action to be taken. A plan to turn an existing special education centre in the neighbourhood into a hostel has been approved by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board.
Both the Ministry of Human Rights and the Ministry of Education expressed concern about the dearth of reasonably priced accommodation in the city for working women, which led to this decision. Many women require safe and affordable places to reside because they go from smaller cities and rural areas to Islamabad for work. That need is being addressed by the new hostel, which will provide reasonably priced, safe, and comfortable lodging.
This action is thought to be a significant step in helping women who work remotely and might not have access to adequate housing. The government wants to make it easier for working women to concentrate on their professions and jobs without having to worry about housing by establishing a space specifically for them.
The federal government has also made the significant decision to start utilising solar energy in Islamabad’s public hospitals. Reducing electricity bills and fostering clean, renewable energy are the goals of this reform. Two large hospitals, PIMS Hospital and Poly Clinic, will be the first to use solar power as part of the solar project’s initial phase.
The government’s emphasis on environmental stewardship and social support is shown in these two decisions taken together. On the one hand, they are assisting working women by making their living conditions safer, and on the other hand, they are using solar power to lower energy expenses and save the environment.
