Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was told on Wednesday that the federal government intended to establish ten software technology parks around the nation by 2025.

A Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications review meeting was being facilitated by the prime minister in Islamabad.

The government informed the meeting that in addition to creating ten software technology parks, 100 e-Rozgar Centres will be established nationwide by 2025. The premier was informed that next year would see the completion of the IT Park being established in Islamabad with South Korea’s assistance.

In addition, an IT Park would be established in Karachi with South Korea’s assistance; the project is anticipated to be finished by 2027.

The prime minister also gave the relevant authorities instructions to take proactive action to boost the nation’s IT exports during a meeting held the day before. He asserted that Pakistan must fully utilise its enormous potential in the realm of information technology.

Additionally, he gave the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) instructions to guarantee that banks won’t put up any barriers for IT exporters regarding debit cards and foreign exchange.
