Exports To Nine Regional Countries Dipped 11.93% To $1.897 Billion

According to the report, issued by the Stat Bank of Pakistan on Monday, during the first six months of the ongoing fiscal year, Pakistan’s exports to nine regional countries came down by 11.93 percent. The countries include China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Iran, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan. China is the biggest importer of Pakistan’s products among these nine countries. 


The share of Pakistan’s exports to China is 55.77 percent but the exports to this country too came down year-on-year basis during the period from July to December in the last calendar year.  


The exports to China declined by 20.57 percent to $1.058 billion during the first six months of current financial year. This figure was $1.332 during the period from July to December, 2022. On the other hand, the imports from China increased during these six months. 


The exports to Afghanistan went up by 4.6 percent to $251.58 million during the months under consideration from $240.50 million in the first six months of last colander year. Pakistan’s exports to Iran stood at $.022 million during the first six months of the ongoing financial year as compared to zero exports in these months, last year.  


Whereas, Pakistan’s exports to India came down by 75 percent to $.126 million during the period, under consideration as compared to $.517 million during the first six months of last calendar year. 


Country’s exports to Bangladesh grew by 5.35 percent to $420.83 million in the first six months of this fiscal year as compared to $399.43 million these months, last year. Pakistan’s exports to Sri Lanka decreased by 8.01 percent to $160.87 during the first six months of this fiscal year as compared $174.88 million during these months, last year. 


During the first six months of this fiscal year, the exports to Nepal came down by 61.78 percent to $1.54 million against $4.03 million during these months, last year. The exports to Maldives grew by 28.16 percent to $4.05 million as compared to $3.16 million last year.  


The country’s exports to Bhutan increased by 166 percent to $.048 million during the period from July to December in the current fiscal year as compared to $.018 million during the same months, last year. ?
