Sindh announces free electric scooters for women, and more double-decker and electric buses for Karachi.
The purchase of more electric and double-decker buses for Karachi has been approved by the Sindh cabinet. This decision was made at a news conference by Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon.
Memon clarified that the cabinet also made the decision to automate anti-drug initiatives. He pointed out that although the Prime Minister had pledged 180 electric buses from the federal government, the money needed to buy them has not yet been supplied.
The province administration intends to provide free pink scooters to anyone with two-wheeler licenses in an effort to support women.
Additionally, qualified women—including students and working professionals—will be able to purchase electric bikes through a monthly lottery. Memon went on to say that female instructors will provide instruction to ladies who are not yet comfortable riding a bike. In addition, women who obtain electric bikes will not be allowed to sell them for seven years.

As an engineer, he also defended the bus design, claiming that he and the Chief Minister had expressed reservations about it. Their criticisms were subsequently validated, guaranteeing that the finished design satisfies the appropriate requirements.
The introduction of free electric scooters for women in Sindh is expected to have a significant positive impact on women’s mobility:
Increased Independence: Women will have greater independence and flexibility in their daily commutes, reducing their reliance on public transport.
Enhanced Safety: Personal scooters can provide a safer mode of transportation, especially during late hours or in areas where public transport is less reliable.
Economic Opportunities: Improved mobility can open up more job opportunities and access to education for women, contributing to their economic empowerment.
Environmental Benefits: Electric scooters are eco-friendly, contributing to reduced air pollution and promoting sustainable urban transport.
Similarly, the addition of double-decker and electric buses in Karachi will improve the overall public transport system, making it more efficient and accessible. This can further enhance mobility for everyone, including women, by providing reliable and comfortable transportation options
