In order to satisfy the nation’s lofty environmental goals, Zyp Technologies has raised $1.5 million in Series Pre-A funding led by Shorooq Partners. This funding will allow Zyp to launch its electric smart mobility technology throughout the city of Lahore, Pakistan.

According to a news release, many angel investors joined returning investor Indus Valley Capital in increasing their investment in this round.

In the upcoming year, Zyp plans to use this investment to launch 1000 of its Zyp Utility Motorcycles (ZUM 2000) and build more than 60 battery switch stations.

The fleet management software on the smart motorcycles can track their location, provide anti-theft features, and send out accident alarms.

The debut is in line with Pakistan’s ambitious National Electric Vehicle Policy, which seeks to sell 30% of all vehicles in the country as electric by 2030. Zyp Technologies was delighted to be included on this esteemed list when the Pakistani government granted permits to 31 businesses in October 2023 to begin producing electric vehicles.

With the help of Zyp’s solutions, motorbike fleet owners may lessen Pakistan’s reliance on foreign oil while operating in an environmentally beneficial manner.

In addition to demonstrating the high performance of Zyp’s electric delivery motorcycles during a three-month trial with TCS, the nation’s top courier service, Zyp’s electric motorcycles travelled over 70,000 kilometres during a successful six-month trial with Chughtai Lab, Pakistan’s largest medical diagnostics company, which resulted in Chughtai Lab making a sizable purchase of the vehicles.

Additionally, in 2025, the corporation plans to distribute motorcycles in large quantities in several other Gulf countries, most notably the United Arab Emirates.

Zyp Technologies is the first locally owned electric two-wheeler mobility firm in Pakistan. Zyp was founded by engineering leaders from the automotive industries in Pakistan, Australia, and Silicon Valley to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly urban transportation.
