“I am confident that this year we will be able to say that Covid-19 is over as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).” ?Said the emergency Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Michael Ryan while talking at a press conference in Geneva.

He added, “A threat to health, ?a virus that will continue to kill. But a virus that is not disrupting our society or disrupting our hospital systems and I believe that that will come as Tedros said, this year. The world is in a much better position now than it has been at any time during the pandemic.”

The Chief of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhannom said that the countries should have jolted into action several weeks before. Covid-19 started disturbing and killing the people of all continents of the world in the year 2019.

Lacs of people died of the lethal disease. USA and China, both have been blaming each other for creating the virus of the corona at their laboratories. The economic and social effects of Covid-19 were severe as the economies of a number of countries which were affected during the last about three years could not stand on a strong footing so far. Russia and Ukraine proved an addition to fuel in the situation. Now the economic situation of the world is worse than the global economy was in the early 30s.

Now the words of officials of the world health agency are a ray of hope for people round the world. The WHO said it will able to declare an end to the emergency sometime in 2023. It was increasingly hopeful about the pandemic phase of the virus coming to a close.

Micheal Ryan said that he was of the view that the world is coming to the point where Covid-19 would be treated in the same way as the World Health Organization treatment of seasonal influenza is done. ?

WHO declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on January 30, 2020. As per official reports, more than seven million people all over the world lost their lives due to the lethal attack of Cortona. However the actual figure for deaths is much higher. ??
