Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, announced that 50,000 solar systems would be distributed throughout the province.
Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, introduced the “Chief Minister Roshan Gharana” project, which aims to provide 50,000 solar systems to the local community.
The Secretary of Energy gave insights into the program’s implementation during a review meeting that was presided over by the Chief Minister, during which the announcement was made.
She advocated employing the newest solar technology and emphasised the urgent need to start building one-kilowatt solar systems during a conference regarding solar household solutions.

50,000 randomly selected consumers who use up to 100 units of power per month will receive solar systems as part of the program’s first phase, which has a budget of Rs 12.6 billion. These systems will come with batteries, inverters, cutting-edge solar panels, and other essential components.
Many officials attended the meeting, including the chief secretary, chairman of planning and development, former senator Pervaiz Rashid, MPA Sania Ashiq, chief executive officer of Punjab Power Development Company (PPDCL), the Punjab Power Development Board’s (PPDB) general director, and the finance and energy secretaries. Other officials were present as well.
She also emphasised the possibility of cooperation between China and Pakistan when she welcomed Chairman Wang Yaodong of China State Construction Engineering Corporation.
In addition to praising China’s One Window Operation System as a global model for attracting investment, Nawaz indicated interest in learning more about potential avenues for private sector involvement in the IT industry. She also kindly invited China to join her in the fight against smog and in agriculture.
In her first address as the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz outlined her goals for the next five years, emphasising the development of job possibilities, advancements in education, and betterment of healthcare facilities.
