Islamabad is set to welcome a new landmark in horticulture and eco-tourism as the Capital Development Authority’s Development Working Party (CDA-DWP) has ratified the PC-I for the Upgradation & Rehabilitation of CDA Nursery as Gardenia Hub at Park Road.
During the 72nd meeting of CDA-DWP the decision was made. the meeting was held at the CDA Headquarters on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Division, the Ministry of Interior, the Finance Division, members of the CDA Board, and other relevant officers. Following detailed discussions, the PC-I for the Gardenia Hub project was given the green light.
With an estimated cost of Rs. 652.8 million, the project is strong aligned with the vision of PM regarding environmental sustainability and urban beautification, which he announced during the inauguration of the F-8 Interchange/Flyover project on December 24, 2024. Spanning 50 acres, the existing CDA Nursery will be transformed into a modern, eco-friendly hub designed to promote horticultural innovation and provide a serene recreational space for residents and visitors.

The Gardenia Hub will feature an array of attractions and amenities. Visitors will be capable of exploring beautifully curated flower shops and unwind at a tranquil coffee shop nestled within lush greenery. Unique, eco-friendly treehouses will provide an elevated view of the nursery, offering a one-of-a-kind experience. The project will also introduce advanced controlled and ventilated greenhouses, allowing for the cultivation of diverse plant species. Additionally, a state-of-the-art tissue culture laboratory will support plant propagation and conservation efforts.
A modern drip irrigation system must have to implemented for sustainable water management, optimizing water usage for the nursery’s operations. A dedicated flower exhibition area will showcase seasonal and ornamental flowers, creating a vibrant and colorful environment throughout the year.
The winsome project addresses the strong dedication of CDA to expand Islamabad’s green spaces and fostering a culture of environmental awareness and sustainability. By transforming the CDA Nursery into the Gardenia Hub, the city will not only enhance its natural beauty but also offer a refreshing retreat for nature lovers, families, and horticulture enthusiasts.
