Pakistani Singer Arooj Aftab recently made headlines for winning a Grammy and becoming the countrys first artist to have done so. The Brooklyn-based vocalist got the Best Global Performance award for her iteration of Hafeez Hoshiarpuris?Mohabbat?Karne Wale,?earlier performed by Mehdi Hassan and Farida Khanum.
Media reported that she has now submitted another song casting Anoushka Shankar for a Grammy consideration in the Best Global Music Performance and Best Arrangement, Instrument and Vocal categories. Aftabs?Udhero Na?is part of her latest album,?Vulture Prince.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Aftab announced, Udhero Na?featuring Anoushka Shankar for your Grammy voting consideration in the Best Global Music Performance category. Aftab also quoted a line from the song, ankhon main silly hoay ho, udhero na this song about getting over your ex must win for sure because we finally got over them.
Moreover, Shankar is a British-Indian sitar player who had been nominated seven times for?Grammy. She is the first and youngest woman to have ever received a British House of Commons Shield.
Aftab also told about her collaboration with Shankar for the song, and revealed that she is a huge fan of hers and their collaboration feels like a dream.

This moment that she is playing my song is insane, please pinch me I must still be dreaming.
