The Punjab government has officially launched the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025 and aiming to provide free laptops to those students who are deserving and high scorers in their academics. The scheme is specifically implemented to promote digital e-learning, and it will help in facilitating students in their academic and research endeavors. The registration process has now commenced, and it is permitting eligible students to apply online for these high-performance devices.
Latest Devices to Be Distributed
The Punjab government will distribute the latest 13th-generation laptops which are equipped with Core i7 processors. The students will be given these devices to support their education and research work. Additionally, 2,000 laptops will be reserved for minority students, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities for all those candidates who are in need of it.
Allocation of Laptops
A total of 110,000 laptops will be distributed among students from different educational backgrounds. The allocation breakdown is as follows:
- 20,000 laptops for university students
- 14,000 laptops for college students
- 4,000 laptops for technical and agricultural college students
- 2,000 laptops for medical and dental college students
To ensure fair distribution, 32% of these laptops will be allocated to students from South Punjab, providing equal learning opportunities across different regions.

Eligible Fields of Study
The laptops will be awarded to students enrolled in diverse academic disciplines, including:
- Computer Science
- Medicine & Dental Studies
- Engineering
- Science
- Social Sciences
- Business Studies
- Languages
- Veterinary Medicine
- Agriculture
Eligibility Criteria
- Students have to follow the below-mentioned requirements to qualify for the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme:
- Must hold a domicile from any district of Punjab.
- Should be enrolled in the 1st or 2nd semester of a BS program at a public university or college.
- For public sector universities/colleges, students must have secured a minimum of 65% marks in their Intermediate exams.
- For public sector medical and dental colleges/universities, students must have obtained a minimum of 80% marks in Intermediate.
- The applicant must not have received a laptop under any previous government laptop scheme.
How to Apply?
Eligible students can apply online by visiting the official portal at cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk. Applicants need to submit their details through the online registration form to be considered for the scheme.
Laptop Distribution Timeline
Reports suggest that the distribution of laptops is expected to commence after Ramadan 2025, likely in April or May. The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has confirmed that the first batch of laptops has already arrived in Pakistan. To mark this initiative, she will host distribution ceremonies in various locations as part of the Honhaar Scholarship Programme.
