Xiaomi is progressing with the much-anticipated release of its SU7 Ultra, a high-powered electric sedan that has captured attention with its astonishing speed. Claimed to be the fastest four-door sedan, the SU7 Ultra recently achieved a new record on the Nürburgring circuit. After being available for pre-orders since October 2024, the vehicle is now ready for configuration and orders, marking a significant step in Xiaomi’s expansion into the automotive sector.

The SU7 Ultra comes in various configurations, with the entry-level model starting at RMB 529,900 (approximately $73,000) and the top-end variant priced at RMB 814,900 (around $112,000). The premium model stands out for its remarkable performance, boasting 1,526 horsepower and sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in merely 1.98 seconds, making it one of the swiftest electric sedans worldwide. Moreover, the car is fitted with CATL’s Qilin 2.0 battery, which offers a capacity of 93.7 kWh and enables a range of up to 620 km on a single charge, merging power with efficiency.
Demand and Deliveries:
Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, disclosed that the company has already received over 6,900 fresh orders for the SU7 Ultra, not including those made during the pre-sale phase. In response to this strong demand, Xiaomi intends to initiate delivery of 10,000 units in April. Furthermore, the entire SU7 lineup has surpassed initial projections, having shipped over 150,000 units so far, and the firm now aims to sell 300,000 units in 2025, further solidifying its growing presence in the EV industry.
