Students at Mehran University have developed AI-powered robot weapon system equipped with a laser gun.

According to details, the students at Mehran University have made a robot equipped with a laser gun that can be able to target the enemy at the speed of light without ammunition.

This robot will have the ability to defeat any aggression from land and air without any issues or loss of life. Students at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Khairpur campus have fostered an AI-powered robot vehicle outfitted with a laser gun fit for burning its target within seconds to reinforce Pakistan’s defense self-reliance.

The prototype, created by students from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Khairpur Campus, is designed to decrease casualties among security forces by empowering remote-controlled operations.

It can precisely distinguish and target both moving and stationary objects on land or in the air.

The project was revealed at the fourth Research and Technology Showcase at the Karachi Expo Center, drawing significant attention, including praise from Sindh’s chief minister.

If adopted, Pakistan could become the first Islamic country and the fifth globally to execute such latest technology, joining nations like the US and South Korea.

Powered by a hybrid electric framework, the laser gun eliminates the requirement for traditional ammunition, shooting at the speed of light. With features like infrared sensors and high-level cameras, its current range of six feet could be extended for more extensive applications, for example, intercepting missiles.

Syed Owais Ahmed, a student from MUET’s Department of Electronics at the Khairpur Campus, explained that the prototype robot laser gun offers an alternative to conventional ballistic weapons. One of the major advantages of this system is its ability to fire laser beams at the speed of light, eliminating the need for traditional ammunition.

Powered by a hybrid electric setup, the system ensures an unlimited supply of “ammunition,” making it highly reliable in combat situations. Moreover, this innovation could reduce the risk of casualties by enabling remote control of the system from a safe workstation.
