The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has ambitious plans to start the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with a fabulous opening function, denoting the notable return of the mega international cricket event to Pakistan after 29 years.

The ceremony is tentatively planned for February 16 or 17, depending on the warm-up match schedule, and promises to be a fantastic celebration of mega events revival in the country.

The Champions Trophy 2025 will be Pakistan’s first significant ICC tournament since the country co-hosted the 1996 Cricket World Cup with India and Sri Lanka. Well-placed sources affirmed that the PCB has officially informed the ICC about its arrangements for the event.

“All team captains will take part in the opening ceremony,” a source uncovered. “This is standard practice for ICC events and represents the solidarity and greatness of international cricket. The ICC has been informed, and the governing body is expected to ensure the presence of all teams.”

Interestingly, even though India has decided to play its matches in Dubai because of political pressures, their group and captain are still expected to join the opening ceremony in Pakistan. “The ICC will train all taking part groups to participate in this curtain-raiser event. It’s a global tradition. While India’s choice on the size of their delegation is up to them, participation is compulsory,” the source emphasized.

On the issue of visas for Indian players, authorities and fans, the PCB consoled that it is focused on satisfying national responsibilities. “Pakistan will give visas to all players, officials, commercial partners, media, and spectators, similarly as it did recently for the ICC inspection group, which included three Indian nationals,” the source added. The opening ceremony is ready to establish the vibe for what is vowed to be a completely thrilling and historic Champions Trophy, celebrating Pakistan’s vital role in the global cricketing arena.
