Pakistan might withdraw from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy if its hosting rights are stripped following India’s refusal to make a trip to the country. The report cited ‘official sources’ as saying that the Pakistan government is probably going to ask the Pakistan Cricket Board to decline to quit playing India in any ICC or Asian Cricket Council occasions until issues are resolved between the nations. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed the International Cricket Board (ICC) that the Men in Blue won’t travel Pakistan and is open to having a neutral scene for its matches, as UAE. The latest advancement comes after reports arose that the international governing body might think about moving the tournament totally. 

“In such a case, one of the choices the government is requesting that the PCB guarantee Pakistan don’t take part in the Champions Trophy,” a source said, adding that the central government was checking the issue “seriously.”. 

While tending to reporters on Friday, Mohsin had said that the PCB should be supposed to “continue with their great gestures,” guiding at Pakistan’s adaptability to the Indian government’s position of not sending their cricket team to the neighboring country.

The government might proceed to request that the PCB decline playing against India in any of the ICC or Asian Cricket Council competitions until issues are resolved among India and Pakistan at the government level. 

Amid political tensions between the two neighbors, the Leading Group of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has stood firm by the Indian government’s strategy of not drawing in with Pakistan regarding respective cricket throughout the long term. 

However, after having played the last bilateral series against one another in 2012, Pakistan and India have competed in ICC competitions and the Asia Cup. Pakistan, as a matter of fact, visited India to feature in the ICC World Cup the year before.
