Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the Punjab Dhi Rani Mass Wedding Programme to bring a smile to deserving newly-wed couples. Under this scheme, each couple will receive Rs 100,000 through an ATM to help start their married life. In addition to the cash grant, 20 guests for each couple will be served food, and couples will receive necessary household items like furniture, utensils, clothes, and other essentials.

During the inauguration, the chief minister highlighted steps to ease the application process, announcing that applications have officially opened and can be submitted online at cmp.punjab.gov.pk. A helpline has been set up at 1312 to assist applicants. CM Maryam Nawaz also assured transparency in the process by explaining that each applicant’s condition will be verified through home visits conducted by special teams.

At another key meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz discussed the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Programme, which focused on housing for the people of Punjab. She proudly announced that house construction had started in districts like Lahore and Kasur. Many people who received the first housing loan installment have begun building their homes. She instructed authorities to ensure the timely release of the second loan installment to maintain project momentum.

The government is striving to ensure no deserving person is left without financial assistance. An assistant commissioner has been appointed as the focal person in each district to guide and inform applicants about their loans. CM Maryam Nawaz pledged to monitor the program’s progress through a dedicated dashboard and assigned Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin to oversee the project’s implementation on the ground.

During a briefing, it was revealed that over 550,000 people had accessed the housing loan portal, with around 450,000 formal applications submitted. The strong interest in the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Programme reflects the high demand for affordable housing in Punjab.

Both the Punjab Dhi Rani Mass Wedding Programme and the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Programme highlight the government’s commitment to supporting low-income families and ensuring access to essential services like housing. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif aims to alleviate financial pressure, improve living standards, and give the people of Punjab a chance to lead better lives.
