A few days ago, the British High Commission declared a shift to a digital UK migration system. Alternating or substituting physical documents with an online immigration status, biometric residence permits BRPS, which need stickers in passports and wet ink stamps, will no longer be needed under the new digital UK migration system.

The British High Commission declared, that if you are given a visa to stay in the UK for more than 6 months, for example, for a work or study, you will be required to create a UKVI online account to access your e-visa. The account will help in serving as an online record of your immigration status.

Furthermore, if you are given a visa for less than 6 months, for example, for tourism, you are not required to create a UKVI account. The British High Commission declared that the shift to a digital migration system is mainly created or launched to ease travel for Pakistanis deciding to go to the UK.

By transitioning to an online system, the visa process is anticipated to be more efficient and secure, removing the requirement for physical documents like stamps and other permits. The British High Commission decided that the new e-visa process is free, simple, and secure. You must not travel to the UK until you have gotten your passport and valid UK visa from the Visa Application Centre, VASC.

The British High Commission is also updating a physical document when e-visa is considered to never affect your immigration status or the conditions of your permission to enter or stay in the UK. The High Commission further gave instructions to the applicants.

Upon arriving in the UK, visa holders must be capable of collecting a biometric residence permit, BRP. Furthermore, BRP cards are valid until December 31, 2024. Their expiration is considered to be never impacting immigration status. The BRP cards are anticipated to be used to set up a UKVI account and access the e-visa. It is clearly instructed to keep the BRP until it expires and to carry both the passport and BRP when traveling abroad to prove the right to return to the UK.
