PM Shehbaz to distribute 1 million smartphones to students on open merit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif few days ago stated that the federal government is set to provide 1 million smartphones to the top-scoring students across the country including those from Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad, Jammu and Kashmir, and those remote areas of Balochistan. He made the declaration while addressing an event the International Day of Youth organized by the Prime Minister’s youth program.  

He claimed each province is equipped with separate programs for students and he pledged to provide ample resources to the youth of the nation to assist them in transforming the country into a thriving developed nation.  

He recalled his service as Chief Minister of Punjab under the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Sharif PMLN. He emphasized providing opportunities for the youth to alter the country’s destination as Prime Minister. The country’s youth can elevate the nation to new heights of glory if given access to modern education and resources, he claimed.  

He expressed his broad vision of equipping talented youth with modern education and skills, information technology, and artificial intelligence to spark a revolution in the country likely the progress seen in China. He emphasized on his previous efforts in delivering modern facilities to students at Danish schools.

Shehbaz Sharif also lamented the fact that despite having abundant resources and 77 years of independence, the country remains heavily burdened by foreign debt. He claimed that extreme poverty stops many from affording basic requirements of living, for example arranging marriages for their daughters while the country’s elite enjoys the most privileges and perks.  

Furthermore, the Prime Minister declared that he would personally fund the education of thousands of agricultural graduates in China, assisting in equipping them with modern technology to increase Agri-production.  

Hawaii has also decided to send 200,000 youth for IT training and advanced education, he claimed, adding that he will unveil a comprehensive development plan for the country on 14 August. The Prime Minister declared that nothing was impossible in this world and focused on the requirement to progress by learning from past issues and mistakes.  

He assured that the hockey of the country will be revived and he also praised Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem. He remarked that Nadeem had won a gold medal for the country after a drought of over 40 years. At the start of the event, the Prime Minister officially declared several key initiatives to launch, including the Commonwealth Youth Alliance Secretariat in Islamabad, the AI for Youth Programme the Digital Learning Portal, and the PM Green Youth Movement, which offers Intel-certified skills to the young graduates and young students. Other initiatives included Smart Youth, Smart Pakistan, and the distribution of 1 million tablets and mobile phones to the high scorers of intermediate students.  

He also declared the registration of the National Volunteer Corps. After that, the Prime Minister presented awards to successful young entrepreneurs who are involved in doing certain sorts of different businesses.
