Pakistan is making great efforts to expand its infrastructure for charging electric vehicles (EVs).

  • Initiatives for Expansion

A large-scale project to increase Pakistan’s EV infrastructure has been started by Hashoo Group and Dewan Motors Private Limited.

  • Policy Revision:

Concerns over range anxiety and the requirement for a strong charging network have prompted calls for an extension of the EV policy. In an effort to allay worries about range, Chinese automakers are also introducing cars with 800 km of range.

  • National Policy for Electric Vehicles:

The National Electric Vehicle Policy of Pakistan seeks to encourage the use of EVs by establishing challenging goals and offering financial aid. Installing DC fast-charging stations at least every 10 square kilometres in major cities and every 15 to 30 kilometres on all motorways is part of the policy.

  • Development of Charging Stations:

Up to 85 places along motorways have been selected for the construction of DC-fast charging infrastructure.

These initiatives, which address the infrastructure requirements to enable EVs like the Honri Ve and others approaching the market, show a strong commitment to assisting Pakistan’s transition to electric mobility.
