Yoga makes its debut in Pakistan with free classes at F-9 Park in Islamabad

Since most people associate yoga with India, there aren’t many official yoga schools in Pakistan. Even so, some people prefer the physical aspect of yoga poses in private.

Yoga, an ancient Indian physical, mental, and spiritual discipline, has officially made its way into Pakistan, a bordering country, following its widespread media coverage.

The Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad has started offering “Free yoga classes in F-9 Park” in the capital, according to the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) official Facebook page. The CDA is in charge of maintaining Islamabad.

Additionally, it featured images of users performing the yoga poses.

The United Nations declared June 21, 2014, to be the International Day of Yoga after realising the practice’s appeal to all people. A record 175 member states supported a draft resolution that India had offered, creating the International Day of Yoga.

There aren’t many official yoga schools in Pakistan, and yoga is typically associated with India. Despite this, some people prefer the physical aspect of yoga poses.

Numerous individuals expressed gratitude for the decision to start yoga lessons, and many others expressed interest in the initiative.

In light of the deteriorating bilateral relations due to the Kashmir dispute and cross-border terrorism, the official decision to host yoga in the capital’s most well-known park is commendable and could send a constructive message over the border.

One resident, Shahid Iqbal, said, “Great job! I really appreciate your work, CDA. Please send the timing.”

Nonetheless, some condemned the CDA for only putting on sideshows rather than offering the residents of Islamabad decent residential facilities.
